Mashed Potatoes - Fritz

I tried a blended effect on the shading and colors.  Turned out ok.  I realize now I forgot to add potato-ey features like eyes and pits.  Oh well!

Ponytail - Fritz

Can't say I'm happy with it, but, I painted something, this was it, so here ya go.

This is supposed to be a young Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II.  Some of the blush and a bit of the hair look pretty, I think.

Tried to do this. It's better than I could have hoped, but I still have a lot of learning to do.

I Am Become Sloth

Tried to paint a selfie that my wife and I took.  She looks like she does, more or less.  I, on the other hand, turned out like a sloth with a double chin.  The shadows for basically everything is Daniel Smith Shadow Violet.  I try to mix colors, but I'm also experimenting with convenience colors.  So, there's that.

Free Draw Friday - Fritz

The prompt for today, provided by my sister was constellation and mushrooms.  This is what I came up with.  It's okay, I guess.

Pomegranate - Darling

It's a rather improbable pomegranate, really.
I didn't enjoy drawing this mythologically interesting but otherwise rather inconvenient piece of fruit, but I'm glad I did, just the same. I have been trying to better my light and shading, and sometimes the best way to practice might just be to draw things I'm  not totally excited about. So, hurrah to that.

My first sketch on my way to learning. Basically for this, I used techniques I saw on YouTube. It's not great, but I'm learning, so there ya go!

Watercolor

Off and on, for the last few months, I've been wanting to learn to watercolor.  So, here we go.  I hunted around and found /r/SketchDaily that offers up daily sketch prompts.  I'll go there, see what the prompt is, and post it here.
